Eligibility
NEET UG Eligibility
- NEET is mandatory (Indian/Overseas candidates) for admission in medical colleges in India.
- The minimum age limit for General category and SC/ST/OBC/PwD students is 17 years, as calculated at the end of the year in which the admission is being taken.
- Candidates appearing for their board exams in 2023 are also eligible to register for NEET UG 2023.
- 12th pass candidates can apply for NEET. This also applies to those who have passed Class XII and have given or are about to give the “improvement exam”. The improved scores need to be shown.
- To be eligible, candidates need to score at least 50% (General), 45% (Physically Handicapped), and 40% (SC/ST/OBC and Physically Handicapped of these categories) in the PCB subjects during 10+2.
NEET PG Eligibility
- First, The Candidate must provide the complete details as demanded by the permanent address with the pin code, e-mail address, and mobile number. It must be kept in mind that the contact numbers and e-mail ID entered, must be either of the candidate or their parents only.
- Once this is over, the candidates need to fill their Codes [02 to 07] against the column provided for the Qualifying Examination.
- Those who are currently in Class XII are required to select their qualifying code as Code 01.
NMC/MCI Exam
The Medical Council of India, the former medical regulating body in the country has faced serious corruption scandals. In addition to this, the MCI was also alleged of promoting Inspector Raj (the inspections carried out by the MCI to ensure the maintenance of required standards by medical colleges) and the malpractices linked with it. It is in this context that the NMC Act replaces scam-tainted MCI with the National Medical Commission.
